A blood drive in honor of Dakota Hurst - will be Friday, September 25th from 10am to 4pm at the Covenant Presbyterian Chruch on Deyerle Rd. If you are available, please donate!! Remember your pint of blood could potentially save 3 lives. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, you MUST call ahead for an appointment. Please call 1-800-RED-CROSS to schedule a time to donate. You must be at least 17 years old and weigh at least 110 pounds. Thank you #DakotasArmy!! (16-year olds may donate with parent approval)
Picture Days will be held TODAY – September 25. Students will be called to the photographer while in their English classes. If you do not physically attend an English class at Hidden Valley High School, please report to the bus lot at door #8 on Wednesday, September 23rd. Students will be photographed on a first come, first served basis. You may order and pay for your pictures when you are photographed.
The Jefferson Scholars Foundation at the University of Virginia is now accepting nominations for the Jefferson Scholars Class of 2025. Jefferson Scholarships provide full tuition, fees, and a living stipend for four years of undergraduate study at UVA, plus several generous enrichment benefits including a study abroad experience. I encourage you to learn more about the scholarship, the selection criteria, and the multi-stage selection process by visiting the Foundation’s website. If you are interested in being considered for nomination, please submit your academic resume to Ms. Raber before 3:30 p.m., November 3, 2020.

College Admissions visits - are currently being scheduled as virtual visits. Please check Blackboard and sign up if you would like the link to participate. Hollins, Ferrum, Virginia Tech, VCU, Radford, Roanoke, and Radford Carilion are currently available for sign up. As a reminder, please regularly check the Counseling page on Blackboard for important announcements.
Registration for the PSAT – Request an e-hall pass to the front office or to Counseling to see Mrs. Dermott in the Career Center. Register with your $30 check made payable to Hidden Valley High School. 100% online students may bring a check to the lobby between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. to register.
The PSAT - will be held Saturday, October 17, 2020 and is a great opportunity to practice for the SAT.
The 2020 Preliminary S A T is also the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®) for juniors, used to qualify for entry to the 2022 National Merit Program.
Breakfast – is served upstairs in the cafeteria every morning between 7:45 and 8:15.
e-hall pass – all students should log in to e-Hall pass at this time and remain logged in while at school. This is how you will request a hall pass to the restroom etc. This is also how teachers, administration, and counseling will request you to come their rooms.
***1st day forms – a reminder that EVERY student, 100% online included, should return the cheating and plagiarism forms, both signed, to Mrs. Dermott. These forms were not included in the online first day forms, so all students should be returning a hard copy to have on file.
