Track: Track will have open gyms after school on Thursday and Tuesday before the season officially starts on the 15th. In order to participate, you must have a physical on file and tennis shoes. Meet the coaches at the track by 3:40pm and make sure you join the Remind!Girls Soccer: The next girls soccer open fields will be Monday, February 6th and Wednesday, February 8th after school until 5:15pm weather permitting. Please make sure your physical is turned in to Ms. Wakeland if you plan to attend, and see Coach Rohrback with questions.Baseball (Feb. 2nd): Due to poor field conditions, GMS baseball open field will be cancelled today. We will try again next week (Tuesday and Thursday until 5:00).Track: If you plan to run track this spring and have not joined the track remind, you can stop by the office to get the instructions. Please remember you must get your sports physical turned in before practice starts on February 15th. You must have appropriate clothing and footwear to participate.

Girls’ Soccer: Attention any 6th, 7th, and 8th grade girls interested in playing soccer this spring season! There will be an informational meeting and signup on Wednesday, January 18th at 8:15am in the middle school cafeteria with Coach Rohrback. Please make sure to attend if you are interested in open fields and trying out for the team. Also, please make sure to turn in your current physical to Ms. Wakeland ASAP if you have not played a middle school sport this school year. You must have your physical on file to attend open fields and tryouts.
Boys’ Soccer: There will be an interest meeting for any 6, 7 or 8th grade boy who would like to play soccer for GMS, in the cafeteria, on January 19th, from 8:15-8:30 AM. Please check in with your block 1/2 teacher and then report to the cafeteria. Open fields, beginning on 1/24, every Tuesday and Thursday, outside if weather permits, until 5:15 PM. Be prepared to be inside on days where the weather isn’t cooperating.
Softball: Open gyms, outside if weather permits, will begin Tuesday, Jan 17th. Beginning Thursday, Jan. 26th, softball open fields will be every Tuesday and Thursday until 5:00 PM, outside, weather permitting. Be prepared to be inside if needed.
Baseball: Open fields will begin next week, every Tuesday and Thursday. Be prepared to be outside on the GHS baseball field.
Track: If you are interested in running track this spring, there will be a quick interest meeting in the cafeteria on Wednesday, February 1st, at 8 :15 AM. Please check in with your first block teacher and report to the cafeteria. Please bring your phone and a parent's email address, as we will need to add everyone to the remind. Track practice will begin on Wednesday, February 15th after school at the track. You will need appropriate clothing and footwear to participate.
GMS Athletic Passes: We have GMS athletic passes for sale in the front office, beginning July 5, 2022. Each pass is good for any 2022-2023 GMS sporting event, for the pass holder only. Parents and students will need to purchase passes from GHS for high school sporting events. GMS adult passes are forty dollars, and GMS student passes are twenty dollars.
Individual game prices are as follows:
For any Roanoke Valley Middle School League game: Admission will be $5.00/Adults, $2.00/Students, and free for all children under school age. Faculty badges for staff of participating school districts will be honored as passes, but these will admit only the person in possession of the badge. VHSL passes will admit cardholder only.
For any Three Rivers’ District League game: Admission will be 5.00 for adults and students. Free for children under school age.
