    “Key Club is doing the soup for Seniors Drive starting tomorrow and until Feb. 4th. Help us collect nonperishable food items during your 3rd block on B days. The class that brings the most items in will receive a pizza party. Key Club members, please make sure to bring your items to Ms. Zion in D105 in order to receive your points.”

    "The boys' basketball team plays tonight at home against Cave Spring. JV starts at 5:30 and the Varsity @7:00. Come out and be a part of the excitement."

    "The creative writing club meeting for today has been postponed until next Monday. If you have questions,  please see Mr. Bayless" 

    "Softball will have open gyms in the Auxiliary Gym starting today from 6:00 - 8:00. The open gyms will be Mondays and Wednesdays in the Auxiliary Gym each week from now until spring sports start."

  • Virtual Learning Day, January 20th, 2022. 

    Parents and students, please check your email/Blackboard for detailed information from your school about virtual instruction.

     Classes will follow the normal schedule on Jan. 20 in a virtual fashion.  Students are encouraged to login at the beginning of each class for directions from their teacher.  

    Teachers also will be available to provide assistance, as needed, throughout the scheduled class time while students work on assignments.

    • Congratulations to the boys’ basketball teams for winning the Northside Invitational Tournament over the Winter Break. This was the 7th straight year the varsity team has won the tournament. Sidney Webb and Lawrence Cole were named to the All-Tournament team and Ayrion Journiette was named tournament MVP.  

     

    • Congratulations to both the JV and Varsity teams for their wins last night over Lord Botetourt. The team next plays at home against Staunton River.

    • The PTSO is excited to announce this week’s VIV Parking Winners: Charlie Slusher, Stanley Jones, Cam Abshire, Tessa Griffith, Morgan Doyle. Please see Ms. Painter in Room E120 to receive your parking pass for today's game! The PTSO will be providing hot chocolate when we arrive back in January.     • Seniors, the 2022 Kendall Bayne Foundation Scholarship is available in the Career Center for seniors who will be attending college and will graduate with a minimum of a 3.0. G.P.A.

    • Tri-M is happy to announce that the Hygiene for the Holidays drive collected 1,530 items for the local shelters in need! Now the news you have been waiting for… Mrs. Tyree’s 5A class won the Krispy Kreme donuts with 150 items donated and snagged Mrs. Tyree a $25 gift card to The Tap House! Thank you and great work to everyone who donated, and an extra special thank you to Nurse Powell for donating over 500 items!
    • On Nov 7th choir students auditioned for all districts choir. This is not an easy feet. We have 13 people make, our highest number ever! Congratulations to: Carlos Nevarez, Xavier Scott, Sydney Lucas, Jenna Capito, Kara Ragland, Paiton Jones, Miyani Holloman, Sarah Perry, Kassandra McGrotty’Hearne, Tressa Kargman, Elizabeth Small.  And a special shoot out to Kiersten Lauer the 6th best Soprano 2 in the district. And lastly Amore’ Burch the 3rd highest alto in the district! Their concert will be the first weekend in February. Good luck you all, we know you will do great.
    • Congratulations to the boys JV and Varsity basketball teams for their wins over Hidden Valley last night. The JV team improve its record to 3 -1. The Varsity team won 88 - 50 and improved its record to 4 - 0.  The team was led by Lawrence Cole who made 8 of 9 free throws and Jayden Smith who had 7 rebounds. The team plays at home on Friday against William Fleming.
    • Congratulation's ladies basketball for beating Hidden Valley 53-17.  Aryianna Rigney led the Vikings scoring 14 points hitting a game high (4) 3 pointers!  Tamiyah Gates chipped in with 10 points and 7 steals, and Jasmine Kidd added 9 points and 8 steals!  Good job for all the ladies for contributing to the win last night!
    • Tomorrow's winter spirit week theme is Green vs. Red. 12th and 11th are green and 10th and 9th are red.
