    There has been a menu change for this week 
     
    Monday: Cheese Breadstick will replace the Chicken Patty 
    Wednesday: Chicken Patty will replace the Cheese Breadstick 

     

    there will be softball open gyms this week on Monday & Wednesday from 6-8 in the AUX gym.   

     

    Congratulations to the boys JV and Varsity teams for wins over Lord Botetourt on Friday night. The team plays at home on Tuesday night. JV game at 5:30 and Varsity at 7:00. 

     

    Anyone interested in playing tennis should see Mrs. Fertitta, if you want to be on the girls team and Mr. Strecker for the boys team.  

     

    Mrs. Fertitta is in the guidance department and Mr. Strecker is in room B112.  See them for all the details. 

     

    Chess Club and chess team has been postponed until next Monday.  

      

    Congratulations to the chess team for coming in first place at the Roanoke City chess tournament on Saturday.  Brett Collins, Charles Slusher, Sam Doan, Brendon Hartung and Connor Bell all contributed to our victory. 

     

    Seniors - Go to blackboard and find the seniors only section of Northside News Student Edition to vote for superlatives and submit your quotes for the yearbook! Submissions are due tomorrow. 

     

    Attention Spanish Club Members: Join us for our next meeting on Wednesday February 1st after school. We will make Valentines for Vets and refreshments will be served. Please sign up on Ms. Waller’s door by MONDAY 1/30. We will meet in Room B104. Be sure to have rides home by 4:30. 

     

    Key Club is having the Soup for Seniors food drive. It ends of Feb. 4th. Bring in your non-perishable food items to your 2B class. The class with the most items donated will receive a donut party. 

     

    Sophomores and Juniors there will be a student registered apprenticeship showcase tomorrow January 31st 5:30-7:30 at the Salem Civic Center. Use the QR code on the posters around the school to register for the event and view the CTE website for additional details.

FCCLA is collecting winter clothing, sizes infant to 2T, in boxes by grade levels outside the library and E-hall. There will be a cookie party for the winning grade.

    Chloey Lafon and Rihana Carson competed in an all girls wrestling tournament at Orange County High School on Saturday. Carson lost her first match and then won 4 straight to place 5th in her weight class. Good job, Carson!

    Attention students that drive, starting today at dismissal, the upper entrance/exit for the student parking in front of the school will be blocked off at 3:20. This means all students must exit at the end of the day at the lower entrance/exit. We will be stopping traffic at 3:30 to allow for the buses to leave quicker without the traffic backup. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we adjust procedures 

     

    The wrestling team defeated Liberty and Hidden Valley last night. Thank you to the wrestling seniors Evan Elliott, Hudson Handy, Ethan Nolan, and Caleb Swanson.

    It's that time of year everyone, we need to start thinking of PROM! The PTSO is hosting Cinderella's Closet, a discounted dress sale, this Saturday between 9am and 4pm here at the high school. You can shop, try on, and find your prom dress for a discounted price. You may also sell your gently used dresses. See our social media pages for details about selling! 

     

    Girls' soccer open field will be today January 19th from 3:45-5:00. We will meet in the stadium or the gym depending on the weather. Make sure you have running shoes if we are inside. See Mr. Martin if you have any questions.

    The wrestling team placed 2nd in the Brookville Duals on Saturday. The team has their last home meet of the season tomorrow against Hidden Valley and Liberty. We'll be recognizing our four senior wrestlers. 

     

    Congratulations to the boys JV and Varsity basketball teams for wins over William Byrd last night in a district game. The team next plays tomorrow at Cave Spring.
