Grading Scale
-
The following is the current grading scale for students in grades 2-12:
- A (90-100) represents superior student performance in mastery of material within the level assigned.
- B (80-89) represents above-average student performance in mastery of material within the level assigned.
- C (70-79) represents average student performance in mastery of material within the level assigned.
- D (60-69) represents below-average student performance in mastery of material within the level assigned.
- F (0-59) represents unsatisfactory student performance in mastery of material within the level assigned.
All schools are required to send interim reports to parents of students who have an average of "D" or "F" (for each subject area) during the midweek of each nine-weeks grading period.
NOTE: Beginning with the 2011-2012 school year, Roanoke County Public Schools changed to a 10-point grading scale.
