2-1-1 provides referrals for utilities, food, housing, clothing, legal aid, emergency shelter, disability services, senior services, medical and dental care, and more. Trained professionals are available 24/7 to help. Dial 2-1-1 or 1-800-230-6977.
Helpful Tips: before calling, create a list of your needs. Call early to prevent minor situations from escalating. Have realistic expectations and follow up if a referral doesn’t work out.
Suicide Hotline
If you or someone you know are having thoughts of suicide, call 1-800-784-2433. One Virginia youth each week dies from suicide. Look for signs and get help.
