• From the Principal’s Desk…

Welcome back to a new and exciting school year at Northside Middle School. We have had a great start to the school year and it has
been wonderful watching students and teachers so engaged in their classes from day one. I will be working with 7th grade students, Mrs.
Carina Hughes (Assistant Principal) will be working with 8th grade students, and Mrs. Nancy Chewning (Assistant Principal) will be
working with 6th grade students. I look forward to working with each of you this school year and I am ecstatic about being the Principal
at Northside Middle School. If there is ever anything I can do to help please do not hesitate to call. Once again welcome back, and lets
all work together at making this another fun, exciting, and successful year at Northside Middle School!

    LOCKDOWN DRILL

Virginia state law requires that each school conduct four lockdown drills per year, two within the first twenty days of
school. We have held both of our lockdown drills and will have two more this school year. The drills are very educational
to our students and staff and we are proud of how our students conduct themselves during all of our emergency
    drills.

    BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT

We had a wonderful Back-to-School Night on August 20th. (Check the enclosed calendars for other upcoming
    events)

    SCHOOL PICTURES

Fall Pictures were on Sept. 4th through your child’s English class.
Make-up pictures will be on October 9th.

    PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCE

Please see enclosed letter about Parent-Teacher Conferences.

A BIG THANK YOU TO THE VOLUNTEERS

A big thank you goes out to the PTA and other volunteers who spend countless hours at Northside Middle
School. Without your support, business days, school dances, etc. would not be possible. We’re also appreciative
for the countless other supporters such as those of you who serve on committees, work in our library,
and provide leadership for others. We are blessed to have you.

    Sincerely,

    Paul Lineburg, Principal
