School Nutrition

  • It is our goal to balance providing appealing and nutritious daily meal choices to students and staff and the operation of a financially sound school nutrition program that complies with state and federal school lunch regulations.

    The School Nutrition Department is accepting applications for part-time or substitute Nutrition Associates.  One large benefit of the position is the ability to work in a cafeteria and be home when your child gets home.   For additional information and application, click here.  You may also call (540) 562-3788 for more information.

Free and Reduced Meal Programs

  • Due to a federal waiver in response to COVID-19, all Roanoke County Public Schools will be providing free, nutritious meals for breakfast and lunch each day as part of the Seamless Summer Option of the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs.

    While meals are free this year, completing a household application may help your household qualify for further benefits, such as the Pandemic Electronic Benefits Transfer (P-EBT) and the Emergency Broadband Benefit (EBB).  A new meal application needs to be completed each year - eligibility carries over into the new school year for only 30 days.  Please complete one application per household.  Paper applications are available in the front office of each school or online meal applications are accepted.  Click on the logo to apply online.

Student Lunch Accounts

  • For the school year 2021-2022, breakfast and lunch meals will be provided at no charge. However, milk and water may be purchased.  In addition, ala carte items may be sold at a later date.  Money may be added to your child's meal account with cash or check in your school cafeteria.  The credit card payment option has not been turned on yet.
