    Northside High School Announces Athletic Hall of Fame

     

    Northside High School is pleased to announce that it will be starting the Northside High School Athletic Hall of Fame with the first inaugural class to be inducted during the 2020-2021 school year.  A date for the induction is TBD; however, the plan is to have it on a Friday during the 2020-2021 basketball season.

     

    Nominees will be received by Mark Eubank, Athletic Director at Northside High School, from now until March 1st, 2020.  As nominations are received, application packets will be sent to the nominees by the school.  The deadline to be eligible will be April 1st, 2020.  Those voted into the inaugural class will be notified by Mark Eubank. 

     

    Nominations can be made by anyone in the general public.  These nomination forms will be posted on the school website, on Facebook and Twitter Accounts, and will be available in the NHS front office. 

     

    Any nominee to the Northside High School Hall of Fame must have been an athletic participant, a coach, an athletic administrator, or athletic contributor.  A nominee should have made a worthy contribution to the success of the Viking Athletic Program, and also be a good representative of Northside High School Athletics.  Former athletes must be out of high school for at least 10 years before being eligible for nomination and must be a graduate of Northside High School.  Coaches must be retired from coaching for 5 years before bring eligible for nomination.  The latest graduation class to be considered for the Hall of Fame will be the class of 2010.

     

    We look forward to adding to the great tradition of Northside High School.  We also see this as an opportunity to make a direct connection with our Alumni and with the community.

     

    Nomination and Application Process


    A candidate may be nominated for Hall of Fame membership by any member of the community.  Formal nomination shall be made using the nomination form and is due to Mark Eubank in the Athletic Department by March 1st of the current year.   Once the nomination form has been received, the athletic department will contact the nominee and send the application packet.   All application packets are to remain confidential, to be shared among the members of the NHS Hall of Fame Committee only.  Information relating to a nominee’s career statistics, records, achievements, etc. must be supported by accompanying documentation or sources cited so that the information may be verified independently.  All application packets must be received by the athletic department by April 1st of the current year in order to be considered for induction into that year’s class.

     

    Nominee Criteria:

     

    Any nominee to the Northside High School Hall of Fame must have been an athletic participant, a coach, an athletic administrator or athletic contributor.  A nominee should have made a worthy contribution to the success of the Vikings athletic program.  The nominee should also be a good representative of Northside High School athletics through their current life, with high moral and ethical standards.

     

    Former athletes must be out of school for at least 10 years before being eligible for nomination and must be a graduate of Northside High School while coaches must have been retired from coaching for 5 years.  A medical condition or medical history could allow for exemptions to the above eligibility.
