BCAT Students Master Regional Art Competition

Urunna

Students in the Center for Visual Arts (CVA) and students in the Graphic Communications classes at Burton Center demonstrated their tremendous talent and skill at an annual regional art competition. The Scholastic program, sponsored by the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers, is the nation’s longest-running and most prestigious recognition program for young adults in the arts. This year BCAT students swept the awards, being the only Roanoke County school with winners, collecting an impressive 14 Gold Keys, 18 Silver Keys, and 27 Honorable Mentions.

All of the Gold Key winners will now compete at the national level.

Our regional host, The Fine Arts Center of the New River Valley, created an online gallery at  facnrv.org/scholastic-2021 in lieu of an in-person art show.

Congratulations to all of our regional winners!
