Mask update from Dr. Nicely
May 16, 2021
Dear parents, families and students:
Given the changed guidelines announced late this week by the CDC and the resulting revisions to the governor’s executive order requiring the wearing of face masks, we wanted to provide you this update and clarify how these changes will affect the last two weeks of the school year.
First, we all welcome the news from the CDC and the governor relaxing some of the restrictions, in response to the increasing number of people receiving vaccinations. For school activities for the remainder of the school year, masks will no longer be required for outdoor activities, including upcoming high school graduation ceremonies.
As the governor announced on Friday evening, face masks will continue to be required in schools for all indoor activities and on school buses as we finish out this school year over the next two weeks.
We wish everyone well as we work together to finish strong.
Dr. Ken Nicely
Superintendent
