We have almost made it to halfway through this very different school year! It was great to see our students return back to us after the winter break. We hope you had a wonderful holiday!
As we head to the second half of the school year, we are hopeful that we will start to see a decrease in our community spread of the COVID-19 virus, as this will help get us closer to a return to a more regular school day. In the meantime, I cannot be more proud of how our staff has worked to still meet the needs of our students despite all the obstacles we have faced. I am also very proud of how well our students have been able to adjust to these changes we have put in place to keep everyone as safe as we can in these times.
Our school board is looking to add more students into more in-person instruction as we navigate the near future. We realize that hybrid instruction is more difficult for our youngest students, and we have been thankful that we were able to move our 3rd Grade students back to attending five days per week earlier in the year. Our school board is now looking to add our 4th Grade to attend 5 days per week next, and final details will be announced on that soon. The Virginia Department of Health has advised that we can go ahead with adding more students to in-person instruction, as long as we still maintain our social distancing, masks, and other mitigation efforts we have in place currently.
If you ever have any questions as we navigate these waters, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are happy to help.
