Ms. Perry’s Life Science classes have been working on a bat project to help bring attention to the plight of Virginia’s insect eating bats. the bats are suffering from White Nose Syndrome due to a fungus that grows in local caves. Two years ago the students erected 3 bats houses. Since then each class has completed another part of the project including getting eagle scouts involved! The bat project has evolved into a nocturnal garden complete with planter boxes and a teaching station! This year’s students will place QR codes in the garden so our visitors can use their digital devices to learn about our journey.
